These minor tweaks have me back on track and feeling great. My body adjusts in literally just a few days. Any extra puffiness, inflammation, a few extra pounds, all gone within a week. It feels so good to just focus on what I CAN have and have plenty of it around. When my refrigerator and pantry are stocked with delicious healthy on plan foods, I don't want anything else.
I went on a bit of a Protective Diet cooking binge yesterday. I made: black bean dip, nacho cheeze sauce, onion dip, baked tortilla chips, vanilla cupcakes, a delicious & healthy chocolate frosting, an apple pie, and a butternut squash baked pasta that will be featured in my November newsletter. Mmmm! I have plenty of delicious healthy food in the house now.
The Apple Pie is one of Julie Christensen's Protective Diet premium recipes. Julie recommends we have it for breakfast as the main ingredients are oats & fruit - perfect for breakfast. Today I had 2 slices of pie and some cinnamon vanilla banana soft serve ice cream FOR BREAKFAST. And I feel perfectly healthy and on plan, it's such a great feeling. The 'ice cream' is just 1 1/2 frozen bananas thrown in the blender with a bit of soy milk, a few generous dashes of cinnamon, and a capful of vanilla - tasty and oh so good with my breakfast apple pie.
