Yesterday evening, Simon & I did a Yin Yoga video. It felt SOOOOO good. Yin is a restorative form of yoga where you hold each pose for 3-5 minutes to really sink in, stretch, and release tension. It actually breaks up scar tissue in the joints and is great for flexibility. Simon feels this really helps him when he is playing a lot of soccer, he plays better when he balances his sports with restorative yoga.
We really enjoyed our yoga and our dog, Riley, joined us. He just loves yoga. Not surprisingly, he does a great downward dog. His savasana needs some works, he thumps his tail too much in savasana. He loves to curl up next to us and in the spaces we create with our bodies in the different poses. He loves the calm energy created and the fact that his Mama & Papa are much more calm after some yoga. Sweet yogi doggy.
Exercise: Yin Yoga Video
Breakfast: Overnight oats with banana, soy milk & cinnamon, tea
Lunch: Cheezy Broccoli Rice (brown rice with frozen broccoli & PD Not-Yo Cheeze Sauce), heated up and put into a Thermos as I had to be on the go for many errands and appointments yesterday. It was so nice to have a warm lunch on the go. I had an orange as well. We have lots of apples and oranges in the house, so I am trying to have one or more each day.
Dinner: Salad with lots of veggies and PD Creamy Ranch Dressing, PD Butter & Herb Noodles (great quick, easy weeknight recipe) with added frozen peas.
All Protective Diet (PD) recipes can be found HERE.
Mindfulness: I actually have 2 days with no appointments to run to, so I may journal today or tomorrow. I did do a bit of channeling during my meditation yesterday on why I eat when I'm not hungry or eat past full and the answer that came to me was to stop obsessing, enjoy my food, and focus on life instead of the scale and minutiae of my diet. This type of focus has at times taken over my life and I have spent so much time on it. Time to chill out, know that if I am eating a Protective Diet I will be at a healthy goal weight, and focus on a broader spectrum of life. I liked that message. I am starting to formulate some lessons learned from this challenge already as I will be done in a week. This is one of the lessons for me, to stop obsessing.
Oh, it was weigh-in day today, 3 weeks completed. I was 133.0, down about 1/2 lb from last week and down 3 lbs total. So, 3 lbs in 3 weeks, not bad for someone who is pretty much at or near goal weight. And I am losing a pound a week eating as much as I want of delicious foods, never being hungry, and not having to do punishing amounts of exercise. This is the life!
