It's amazing what these toxic substances do to us, yet we just get used to feeling bad after we eat or having huge energy swings. I am so glad I have committed to cleaning up my diet 100%. I am the worst for letting junk sneak in because 'oh, a little won't hurt', 'my weight isn't going up', whatever reason...usually a dumb people pleasing reason. My 2014 New Year's Resolution was to work on healthy boundaries, speaking up for myself, and asking for what I want. This is another way that I need to stand up and do just that. It's late in 2014, but I am cleaning up the last remnants of an unhealthy diet and feeling so much better for it.
Exercise: FIRM Workout Video. If it wasn't for this challenge, I would NOT have done this. I felt so lethargic and crappy all day, but I did the workout in the evening and even felt slightly better after I did it. I have thought about scrapping this part of the challenge altogether to really focus on diet and mindfulness, not taking on too much at once. We shall see. If I really keep this low key and count some sort of movement 3 times a week as success, I think I can still do it.
Breakfast: 1 piece of PD Apple Pie with hibiscus tea.
Lunch: PD Veggie Chili with 2 PD Jalapeno Corn Muffins and PD Onion Dip
Dinner: I had an odd assortment of leftovers - part of a PD Sloppy Jerry, 1 tostada with PD Unfried Black Beans, PD Not-Yo Cheeze Sauce, potato/veggie mix with the filling from PD Spicy Green Enchiladas, PD Salsa Molcajete, topped with PD Onion Dip, lettuce, cabbage, and cilantro. I had a handful of the Buffalo Ranch Roasted Chickpeas shown in the picture and 2 of my cranberry orange muffins. Odd mix, but it filled me up and was all on plan food.

Mindfulness: This is great and shifting my habits. I have caught myself twice having a few bites of things with the laptop in front of my face. It is such a habit for me, especially if I have my breakfast cozied up in bed. Once I realized what I was doing, I put the laptop away, focused on really enjoying my breakfast and tea, THEN picked up the laptop when I was finished. So glad this challenge is helping me to mindfully eat every time I eat.
